The Red Clay Table opened in Sheffield almost exactly three years ago. Located on North Montgomery Avenue, the town's high street, it quickly became a popular upscale alternative to the town's usual diners and fast food joints. Why is it so in demand?
While considered upscale, the lunch items are very reasonably priced. Patrons often enjoy the patio area, weather permitting, where they dine on "upscale Southern cuisine with a French twist." Some have even called this establishment the best to be found in the three county area.
During the pandemic, the eatery has managed to stay open, offering curb-side pick up of orders. Now, this may change.
Due to an unresolved dispute with the Sheffield Building Department, owner Laquita Logan has placed her establishment on the market. Does this mean it will be soon be gone for good? This remains to be seen; being in a precarious financial situation, Sheffield could agree to compromise on many of the issues confronting downtown businesses. Popular Vertillo's Pizza deserted Sheffield just last month.
Nevertheless, if you haven't tried the Red Clay Table, we suggest you do so soon. It's an experience you shouldn't miss.
