From their website:
Since
October of 2004 Rivertown Coffee Co. has been serving up the best
coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, muffins, soups, and sandwiches in the
Shoals area. We serve drinks all day and night and serve fresh soups and
sandwiches Mon-Fri 11am-2pm. Located at 117 North Seminary Street in downtown Florence.
The Rivertown Coffee Company is what most consider a traditional coffee shop. There's nothing fancy at Rivertown except their food. It has a down home feel: Old building, uneven floors, furniture circa modern rummage sale;
everyone from moms with kids to businessmen stopping in for their
morning Joe. There's a great coffee house atmosphere where things go slow,
people talk to strangers, and you walk out with a little better attitude
towards the world.
Want music? The shop usually has some, and we mean live bands. Want to people watch? Rivertown is one of the best places in the Shoals to do that also. Or are you one of the strange ones who just wants coffee and a muffin? Still the right place.
I recently had the three cheese grilled cheese on sourdough with a tomato (on request) and a
cup of garden vegetable soup. It took a few minutes because the place
was packed for lunch but worth the wait...oh, and always a good place to
pick up a piece of cheesecake, made fresh locally. If cheesecake isn't your poison, there are always muffins galore with plenty of calories.
The prices are great, you really get your money's worth, and there's always wifi so you'll be assured of a productive lunch. Don't put off your first/next visit. You'll be missing out if you do.
