Chick-fil-A Florence to Close?

No matter how good the food, if an eatery isn't profitable, it will close. Anyone think Mickey D's is about to open in Frog Pond? No?

Similarly, no matter how profitable the Florence sit-down Chick-fil-A in the local mall may once have been, those days are over. It doesn't help that the mall owners seem to refuse to consider even roof repair. Want to eat in not only a deserted mall, but sit in a wet booth? We didn't think so.

Quad-Cities Cuisine has been told that the Florence Chick-fil-A will close just before the official start of the Christmas shopping season. This has not been verified with the owners of the former Regency Square Mall, but is certainly in line with other closures that have plagued the mall over the past two years.

The stand alone drive-thru will remain open.

  1. They don't need the one in the mall. The outside the mall restaurant has plenty of seating inside. They are always busy. Great food there too.

    1. That's fine for those who dine as they enter or exit, but shoppers, especially those with small children, need an inside, sit down eatery. How many stores have lost business when shoppers from nearby towns decided to leave the mall for lunch and then decided not to return? Having an inside store is just good business.

  2. If it has not changed, the outparcel franchise owner and the one inside the Mall is not the same.

  3. I didn’t even know they had one inside the mall! Tells you how often I go to that mall.
