Shoals Number One French Fries? It's a Four-Way Tie!

 



What is Shoals diners' final verdict on the best French fries around? It turns out to be a four-way tie. Here is the quartet of select eateries in alphabetical order:


1. Burger Depot - The outside of the small fast food establishment may not be overwhelming, but local diners state that the fries are. Located on Florence Boulevard adjacent to the Shell Quick-Mart, this drive-thru serves some of the best American comfort foods you can find.

2. Five Guys - This fast food chain is noted for its hamburgers, but many go just for the French fries. The eatery is noted for what is commonly called boardwalk fries. The potatoes are fried in only peanut oil and provide an unmistakable flavor. You can find Five Guys at 2881 Florence Boulevard.

3. Mugshots - These fries are beer-battered, and if you don't like that style, you're out of luck. A Mugshots cook tells us the fries come pre-battered from the supplier, Most area diners seem to love these French fries, so we suggest giving them a try before turning up your nose. Mugshots is located in the Dodge Brothers building on Court Street in Florence.

4. Sam's Sports Grill - This Alabama/Tennessee chain has a vast following for many of its menu items, but its French fries are at the top of the list. Sam's is located at 239 Seville Street near Target in Florence.

  1. Five guys sorry don't have boardwalk fries. Boardwalk fries originated in Ocean city maryland at a place called Thrashers

  2. Thrashers on the ocean city boardwalk they are fried in peanut oil seasoned with old bay and malt vinegar and. Dipped in Velveeta cheese sauce
