Marty's Stew Shack

 

You might call Marty's Stew Shack the best kept secret in Eastern Lauderdale and Western Limestone Counties. Owner Marty Thompson calls his eatery an old-fashioned dairy-dip, but customers leave calling it much more. Since its opening seven years ago, the small restaurant located just south of Anderson has become the go-to for great food without having to pawn your Rolex.

Patrons of what many call simply the "Stew Shack" have recently commented on Marty's menu:

The burgers are absolutely fantastic. The chicken tenders plate is my favorite to get . I always get the tater tots with it. The prices are good in my opinion. Cheryl and Marty are fantastic and the service is always great. The bbq nachos is something everyone should try.

All their food is great and service too but my favorite is the chicken, goat and beef stew. Hands down the best stew you can buy.

Great food and friendly service. I drive to Alabama for it. Prices are reasonable. Love the Stew Shack!

Their burgers are the best!! Also love that they have outdoor seating in addition to the indoor area. Love the swings in the outdoor area. Just a very pleasant experience.

Best Peanut butter milkshake ever!

The menu has something for everyone. They have everything from a simple corn dog or hamburger to a full course meal. They have Hamburger Steak complete meal, Best BBQ plate around. They have multiple complete dinners. They are always smoking chicken wings, making stew on specific dates. They have delicious food and a large selection. The desserts are a must, banana splits, sundaes, cones and others. All flavors of icy’s. The price is cheaper than a in town restaurant. There is plenty of parking space. The place is clean and wait time is acceptable.The restrooms are clean. They are always adding to the menu and asking for suggestions to satisfy the customer. Very nice people. The menu is much larger than what I have mentioned.

It’s worth the trip. Onion rings and corn dog is my favorite.

We love to eat at the Stew Shack!! The rebel burger is amazing! The food is always fresh and hot! Prices are affordable! The staff is always friendly and, my favorite, the banana split in a cup is the best I’ve ever eaten!

I love Marty's Stew Shack. The Rebel Burger is the best in the State of Alabama and probably the USA . Fresh Beef, heated bun, all the condiments and cheese. That first taste will send you rocking. After you eat that burger, no other burger in the Shoals will taste good. They have hot dogs with home made chili, BBQ, Chicken Fingers, ice cream, shakes, and sundaes. Worth the drive to get the best. Great prices.

Only down side is cups are a little small.

While we received many other reviews, the above cover most of the questions about the eatery. Comments were 99.9% positive, so we suggest you give Marty's a try if you're looking for some All-American Comfort Food! 

Take US Hwy 72 east to Rogersville; turn north onto Hwy 207; travel approximately five miles; and Stew Shack is on right. Enjoy!
