Red Lobster in Florence Remains Open

 

If you're concerned about the Red Lobster on Cox Creek Parkway closing, you can breathe easy - for now. On May 13th, the Thai Union Corporation, owners of the famous chain since 2014, announced it would be closing around eight percent of its stores.

While Florence is safe for now, the Auburn and Decatur stores were not as lucky. The contents of the two locations will be auctioned on Thursday and the buildings will be listed for sale.

Will there be a second round of closings/auctions in Red Lobster's future? As of right now, Thai Union is planning on declaring bankruptcy and restructuring. If you like lobster, you may want to say a prayer that this strategy goes smoothly.
