Ami's Restaurant is located in Park Place at 500 North Montgomery Avenue in Sheffield. It bills itself as world cuisine with an "upscale menu, universal, affordable, and designed by our 5 star Chef Ami!"
The Colbert County Health Department doesn't hold the restaurant in so high a regard. Ami's December 2014 health score was 84. The worst violation was out of date beans and hamburger meat. Nevertheless, my one visit saw a clean outer dining room which looked impressive. I could not find the current health score posted anywhere.
Other customers were complaining about the fish. A glimpse of the chef was fleeting, and several have told me no employees like to be bothered by complaints of the diners.
You might like Ami's on a good day, so I suggest you try it at a discount. I'm not sure if the restaurant is desperate for business, but they continually offer gift certificates at a 60% discount. Buy the $25.00 certificate for only $10.00 and give it a try. If you don't like it, you won't have wasted that much money.
